Mary's Volunteer Work Transcript

George: When she passed away she was 86, so 20 years before that is when she retired in 2000. Did volunteer work with the Lions Club and I think she was with the local AARP chapter for a while, but predominantly she did a lot of things for the Lions Club. She was a secretary for them, so, she took notes at the meetings, she would uh type up advertisements and take care of-of all of their administrative work. And the Lions Club would uh-uh take uh little trips and she made friends. They always used to meet at Ricardo’s restaurant it was a catering hall, and they would have auctions to raise money for their charities, they raised money for dogs for uh the blind, you know, uh, what do they call them?

Tyler: Seeing eye dogs.

George: Seeing eye dogs, yeah. So they would have funds and auctions and fashion shows and things like that, different types of events. And uh, Mary would get quite involved with that.
